Podcasts are becoming very popular. Serial, a podcast that achieves mainstream success in 2016, popularized the medium once lead by Adam Carolla.

A podcast is a digital audio file made available on the Internet for downloading to a computer or portable media player, typically available as a series where new installments can be received by subscribers automatically.

Lately, a few dentists have published podcasts. Some dental podcasts I find myself listening to are:

Dentistry Uncensored with Howard Farran

Dentistry Uncensored is probably the most consistent and relevant podcast for general dentists and others close to the industry. Howard’s podcast features hour-long interviews with some of Density’s most talented and influential individuals.

The Relentless Dentist Podcast

Hosted by Dr. David and his wife Dr. Karah, the Relentless Dentist features bold biographies of dentistry’s household names while also offering practical business advice for the rest of us.

Dental Hacks Podcast

Hosted by Dr. Alan Mead and Dr. Jason Lipscomb, the Dental Hacks Podcast is “a podcast created by dentists for dentists”. These podcasts are sometimes more than an hour in length but offer some insights into the minds of two clinicians and their guests. Here’s one of their podcasts about class II composites to get started: http://dentalhacks.com/hackisode-2-class-ii-composites/

[EDIT – 8-15-2020 – I just ran out of time and canceled the podcast]

Which brings me to this…If you visit my website at OneLooseTooth.com, you will now see the main menu link labeled “podcasts”. This link takes you to a new podcast I have started about dentistry. Currently, there are three episodes – all interviews with former classmates of mine about their AEGDs and GPRs. Each episode is a little rough around the edges and some post-production fine-tuning is absolutely needed, but for now, I hope you enjoy the beginning of another podcast for dentists (even if each episode is a little raw and unedited).

Happy listening.
