Continuing on with the same theme as my previous post about getting a job after dental school, this post contains the audio from Dr. David Williams presentation about contracts and compensation for new dentists.
In his presentation, Dr. Williams discusses the contract from both an employee’s perspective and from the employer’s point of view. Navigating contracts after dental school can be a challenge, and with almost no formal education regarding contract law in the state you wish to practice in, seeking the advice of a knowledgable attorney prior to signing a contract is an excellent idea.

I run into this issue all the time, when I got my first job I didn’t have any idea how to negotiate, but now that I have some experience, I always tell my friends (when they’re being offered a job) to ask for more. I tell them the only bad thing that can happen is that they’ll say no, since they already offered you the job. However you have to bring reasons to the table with you as to why you’re worth the extra money or benefits that you’re asking for!
